The calculation keeps full internal precision and rounds displayed values to mL. Activity and weather adjustments are transparent demo assumptions, not clinical prescriptions.

What is the difference between beverages and total-water AI?
The main result estimates liquids you drink directly. Total-water AI is an authoritative population reference that includes drinks and water in food. The scopes differ, so do not add or swap them.
When does this not apply?
People with heart failure, kidney disease, hyponatremia risk, a fluid restriction or unusual thirst or swelling should not use this tool to set fluid intake. Ask a clinician first.
Why can drinking too quickly be risky?
Large amounts of fluid in a short time can also be risky. Do not force rapid drinking to reach a number; seek timely help for nausea, headache, confusion or other unusual symptoms.

Is this the amount of water I must drink directly each day?
No. The main result is a rough beverage estimate based on weight and context. Total-water AI also includes water from food, so the two measures have different scopes and must not be added or swapped.
Why does activity or hot weather increase the range?
Exercise, sweating and heat can increase fluid losses, so the demo applies a separate rough adjustment. It is not an individualized hydration prescription and does not replace fluid restrictions or disease-management advice.
